CraigShopper App Reviews

The software always felt out-of-date but it got the job done, however recently it completely stopped working.

Mostly nice but display bugs and no support.

Recently purchased a copy of this app and installed it on an new MacBook Pro. In the search summary list, prices are displayed incorrectly, for example “$850” displays as “$850”. Every price is formatted this way. My guess is that this would be a trivial bug to fix. Unfortunately, as noted in other reviews, the developer does not respond to inquiries.

Great App

There isnt much to say, but this is a fantastic app, simple, loads fast, keeps your searches updated. There are many things that this app COULD be, but the best thing about it is that its NOT any of those things. It is what is, dead simple, fast loading, well groomed. Thank you for your development, much appreciated…..4 stars is just because I want an iOS version of the same app that syncs via iCloud….that is all I ask…..outstanding job nonetheless.

How do you remove a search item from the list? Anyone?

How do you remove a search item from the list, when you no longer want to search for it? (Yes, Ive emailed support about this, and previously. I never have gotten a response.)

Worked great, but stopped working two days ago

This app has worked really well for me as I do a variety of vehicle searches on a variety of parameters daily. Its not perfect and does miss some results, but its a great way to quickly check nationwide for the latest posts. I ran into an issue the other day when Craigshopper stopped working. It would open and search, but would not return results. After playing with it some, I finally tried renaming the applications cache.db file, which forced it to build a new cache file. That fixed the problem.

Great way to search Craigslist

Great app and saved searches work great. I only wish there was an easy way to save or favorite

Good, not yet great

Has some usability issues. Marking and hiding are not intuitive nor menu items, just contextual meniu items. Searches arent mutually exclusive. Search is very literal: "camera" doesnt match "cameras" - you have to construct your own regular expression to match plurals. New listings are marked with a blue dot, but if you leave the search list, or if the auto-reresh kicks in while you are looking at new items in a search list, you get bounced up to the top level and the new listings are no longer marked as "new". The sort order is somewhat random, too, so the items are not listed in the same order once they are no longer marked as new. But on the whole, its a useful and usable app. It would be great if the quirks could be fixed, and some filtering put in place so that an item shows up in only one search instead of in multiple searches that happen to hit.

I’ts pretty much amazing

Sure I can think of some features I would like to see integrated … Mind Reading, Automated Drone Pickup of items … But as a developer myself, I know how stingy Craigslist is with their data, so everybody give Arlen props for keeping this thing alive. Pay the $6 … it’s a SLAM DUNK.

Great - It has saved me big bucks

I’ve been using this app to search for Redwood decks (and other lumber) being demolished by their owners so I could repurpose the wood in Raised Garden beds. It rocks - I get “hits” several times a week. Great app. Highly recommend. I’ve been telling all my Mac friends/family about it - those that look in Craigslist. I have downgraded to 3 stars for though I use it ever day, I also have to restart it 2-3 times a day because it gets into this “state” where it can’t be used and I have to restart it.

Great way to know when things show up on Craigs List

I’ve used this application for several years and lately I just leave it open all the time. It gets the job done and continuosly searches for my key words to let me know when something new shows up. I especially like the ability to add several locaitons or categories to one search. It’s a constant battle staying current with the Craigslist site, and sometimes it takes a while for updates.

Frustrating

Small obvious problems make this a frustrating experience. For example all my searches are for the same geographical area why can’t I save them as a default instead of entering them one by one. Can’t find a way to delete a search, this should be simple and intutive. But worst of all I have lost great buys because I did not get a notification. Makes it almost useless if you want to act fast.

Used to work great!

This app used to work flawlessly, now all the prices are not showing up on the list view screen after setting up a search. It shows a lot of charcters such as #@!# and some numbers before it shows somewhat of a price.

PLEASE PRICE ERRORS! $2400, &#2x0024;0999

This app used to work fine, but now the prices won’t come up on the side bar, instead i get number gibberish “ like $2400 and &#2x0024;0999 which kind of defeats the purpose of the app.

Bargain Hunting Made Easy!

This makes using Craig’s List an fun adventure. Amazed nobody else created an app like this but then again this one is exactly what you’d want that app to be!

CL App

Get’s the job done. Notifies you when something new (that you identify in the search engine) comes up for sale on CL. Also lets you search across multiple cities at the same time. I wish it had more ways to sort the results (keywords, etc)…but it works and it’s well worth the couple of bucks to find great deals as soon as they appear on CL.

Great App for shopping used stuff

Good app on the surface, but the advanced features, really allow you to look for specific items. Very useful!

Should be called SLOWSHOPPER

Whats the point - doesn’t work - it takes 2-3 minutes for a section to load - and then when it does its super slow again and buggy.

Version 2.0.17 update

This is one of my top 5 favorite applications of all time. I have shown it to some of my windoze friends and they are jealous. I use this application every day and it has saved me thousands of dollars. It allows you to know right when an item is listed. The best deals always go FAST. You need to be quick if you want to win them. This application allows me to strike before others even know about the listing. Bottom line, if you shop on craigs list, you need CraigShopper. This application pays for it self! Truly!

Limited filters

I am searching for ATVs and am unable to filter out the hundreds of dealer ads with this app. I have had an app on my iphone for years that allows you to filter by owner vs by dealer. I can not find the ability to do this on this program and its usefulness is limited. I do like the ability to view the thumbnails. Maybe they will improve search function with an update.

Notifications dont work

No customer service. I sent a comment and never got a reply. I tried to set up to nootify me via email and never gat a notification.
